Philosophy

Yoga is a healing methodology, an art and a science. It abides deep in the heart.

Yoga unites us with all human beings and everything around us.

Yoga enhances the quality of one's life, enables one to be less reactive and more calm in difficult situations.

Yoga creates strength and flexibility and helps us take better care of ourselves. In taking care of ourselves we have more to give to others, replenishing our well-spring.

There are many difficulties worldwide and yoga is a lifestyle where we can reduce stress, create compassion and generosity of spirit, find comfort and ease, deepen our sense of concentration and bring more contentment and joy into our lives.

About Roberta

I’ve been in health and wellness for almost 30 years, some would say a healer, with yoga becoming my life’s purpose in 1992. It’s what has held me steady throughout life’s constant changes.

As a teen with many health issues, both physical and mental, I yearned for a way to find comfort and ease in my body and mind. My good fortune lead me to yoga.

I’ve been a student of Ashtanga Yoga, previously certified in Viniyoga and Viniyoga therapy training but it was Iyengar Yoga that I was finally drawn to. It enriches my life, informs my daily practice, educates my students and anchors me.

I had the privilege to obtain my Iyengar Yoga Certification (CIYT) in South Africa where I co-owned the first Iyengar Yoga School in Knysna.

I have also had the privilege of studying with the Iyengar family in Pune, India.

My livestream focus is geared towards beginners, the basics and beyond focusing on alignment, attention to detail and breath, for a safe online practice.

I incorporate themes within each livestream class starting from the ground up.

I also teach individual livestream classes for students who want to go deeper into the practice or for those who need yoga support.
